THANK YOU for your VOTES! You did it! By the Red Barn BEST
IN WESTERN WASHINGTON GIFT SHOP Top 5 http://best.king5.com/by-the-red-barn/biz/498015 I appreciate the loyalty and support.
You guys ROCK! October started
out gently. We opened on October 10th after my son went into Recruit Training (October 6th) with
the Navy in Great Lakes, Illinois.I heard from him almost 3 weeks to the day he arrived. So far, I am pleased with the Navy.
Everything Bryce said the Navy would do has happened. I got all his belongings in a box 1 week after he got there. A letter from him arrived
soon after. I actually spoke with him after 3 weeks. He got phone privileges! It was a fantastic feeling for me, the mom, to hear his strong, confident
voice. He sounded great. I had to laugh. He said he would like to get more mail. I reminded him that
he didn’t send out mail when he was up in Bellingham. “Well, I am now” he replied. Bryce says
the food is decent and plenty of it! I was surprised to hear he has gained 4 to 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks.
For those of you that know him, he is a long, lean guy with not a lot of extra baggage. So, even with plenty of exercise
(I’m told they do double duty to make up for the smart mouths in the group for punishment) he is thriving and getting
stronger. As many of you heard me whine about, I was not the wildest about him going into the service. Well, it’s
done; it’s his life and his choice. I need to go with the flow. I only hope he gets stationed in some exotic
place that I can go visit! More self serving talk, huh? It has sure been nice to see you guys again. I thank you for the $$$ for the
raffle for the Pink Pashmina. The winner is:Cheri EdwardsCongrats. (Proceeds went
to the Susan G Komen for the Cure) A friend of mine, Tracie Stone of the band “Rootbox”, just sent me one of her
songs on the following link. I keep telling her she should take up the guitar! It’s her vocals and guitar on the music.
